shades of grey.

heyy. i just feel like blogging. cos i dun feel like doing work. lol.

was basically slacking the whole weekend. altho there was music homework haha. but music homework doesnt really seem like homework cos its more fun. went to esplanade library to do some research and managed to find the iberia score for my MI. other than that, the esplanade library is pretty useless. theres like one row of guitar cds only... and the guitar scores there are like.. from the renaissance period or something... there are also no books on spanish flamenco :( hahah but if anyone wants indian music resources.. somehow theres a lot of raga stuff there. lol.

it seems that most of my music projects im doing dun have a lot of resources. the write-up for isaac albeniz (composer of iberia) is 2 pages long, versus the 20+ pages for someone like bartok. the writeup for tarrega is even worse.. its like 4 paragraphs. and im doing on his transcriptions for my 4k word extended essay lah. lol. but how many resources do i actually need? hmm i wonder. little is known in the guitar world. in the books in singapore that is. haha.

okay just some random stuff about music. anyways, its onli 2 more weeks to the march hols (!!!) even tho its so pathetically short it means time to wake up late, and go out a bit. hahah i always like holidays a lot.. especially dec hols even tho it becomes sian after a while.. but its a gd time for reflection and a break from work. yeap.

yes!!!! finally a day i can rest!!

today marks the end of a bulk of tests... music today, which wasnt really a test, and econs test, which was quite easy. and i dun think i will do well for my physics test :(

anyways, if i dun rest, i think i will probably fall sick. as everyone is now. jc life is really hectic. and a quote from jun jie's blog.. JC is life a game of life. 8/20 for the first mep test. wow man.

today had EL A1 first test... and was really hard too!!! lolz.

gah the monotony of sch. turns u into a one liner blogger.

anyways, its raining now. actually tried to sleep just now but becos i drank green tea during lunch.. cudnt fall asleep haha. green tea is powerful stuff man. the SAC shud sell it at 50c and less pple will sleep during lessons. and just now in bed my leg cramped lah. too much lactic acid or something.. now i cant walk properly O.o

yeap anyways tts abt it. i like fridays.. cos im free to do nothing and sleep for the whole afternoon b4 i go to church in the evening. my church is currently doing a series on friday nights entitled 'heart of a fighter'.. quite interesting.. focuses on thinking styles a lot.

back from a manic sch wk.

today was release of O lvl results. i must truly thank God for my mep results. congrats to everyone who is happy with your results. before i received my slip i remembered something my guit teacher told me.. which is that the piece of paper doesnt really matter.. its the journey to get that piece of paper that mattered. you can loose the piece of paper but u still have all the experience in you. thank God that my 4 years in mep did not go to waste. i am definitely more well versed in music than when i first came into acs wif grade 3 pract and theory. (altho i still wudnt watch a classical concert for nuts :P)

yeap. tts abt it. sleep time now haha.

hey.

it's the middle of the school term and it truly feels like sch now. lol.

today was assisting my guit teacher to teach the first lesson for sec 1s. and ive got many thoughts haha. i truly truly admire my guit teacher for the way he teaches. altho he may sound a bit monotonous at times, he really makes sure he gets everything right. i basically started off the lesson by asking them to tune up the guitars before he arrived, and sorta introduced the finger numbers, parts of a guitar to them. hahah then i saw on the lesson plan: origins of the guitar (which i noe nuts abt). later on my guitar teacher told the class that the first records of a 'box with strings' was from babylon, modern iraq. hurhur.

aft tt he got all of them to introduce themselves (which i dint do haha) and check on their musical background. most of the sec 1s were like.. grade 6/7. like... dots man. i came in with grade 3 prac and theory la. tiencais. aft revising how to sit properly, i took over and started teaching them basic notes. and some of them can learn quite quickly. hmm but i need to read up more on sitting positions and hand positions.. cos i noe how it looks like.. but i dunno how to put it in words so the whole lesson i'm like.. 'like that', or 'like this'.

yupz but anyway most of teh sec 1s hu came today are super onnnn. i like :) aft i dismissed the sec 1s, i went to the orchestra 2 (guitar orch divided into two u see.. one more pro one less) and... they... played like they've onli been learning for 3 months. most of them have already been through the sec 1 course last year lah. and i realised that the guitar orch is super super super slack now. they need a teacher to be around or else they wun practice anything. even the SLs slack. they dun even sit properly and all their hand positions are wrong. and now i instinctively correct anyone whose hand position or sitting position is wrong.. so i get super pissed off when they cant even sit properly. like every single one lor. hai. i dunno lah. guitar orch needs a revolution.

anyways, tml is the release of o lvl results... i am so scared for my mep. lolol. anyways wadever the result, i noe that God has been with me and that i have done my best. yup.

hey.

today sch was quite gd.. in terms of my attitude towards sch haha. i think its getting better. and school has kindly returned my nice attitude with lots and lots of homework. and almost all of them are tutorial-ish stuff.. so teacher wun really collect. gah i need to buck up my physics and maths.

also, i think i shud take every opportunity to perform seriously. todays music lesson mini recital was.. dots. hahah. performing with score is really hard when u have two other important places u want to look at (RH and LH). hahah nxt one is in term 2 wk 3 (so fast) but this stuff is quite fun.. get to see everyone's style. and now i really appreciate my guitar teacher's teaching style of constantly asking me to question the music and to take steps to become a more independent musician. yupz.
